You have been studying: The curriculum challenge (level C)

There have always been professional and political tensions between the education of children and young people with severe, profound and complex learning difficulties, and the underlying bias of different curricula. This module reviews the different approaches of a range of curricula, focusing on specific curriculum areas and examining the relevance to these learners. It gives insight into how the curriculum needs to provide these learners with a meaningful educational experience in which their achievements are recognised, so they can build on them and progress.

Becoming a teacher of children with SLD/PMLD/CLDD. Of interest to those already working with children with complex needs and wanting to enhance their skills and knowledge. Useful for CPD and induction.

For this progress review, we’ll ask you a series of questions to help you identify any resources within the module that you may want to revisit. These will cover the following areas:

How does it work?

You’ll be asked to answer a series of questions based on the module’s content. They are a mixture of straightforward yes/no questions, and multiple choice questions requiring one or several answers. They are grouped into clusters according to the topics listed above, and you can complete as many clusters as you like.
